A baptism and a birthday

Yesterday was my best birthday ever.
My beautiful daughter got baptized. It was a nice program and so many of the people we love were there to show their love and support for her!
And I got a family picture with us all looking, no funny faces, no tears...
like I said a good birthday indeed!

T had another meet Tuesday. He ran 2 miles in 15 minutes.
That is after a week off from being sick. We are so proud of him!

Pumpkin farm

I spent the morning with my baby. We went to a pumpkin farm with her fabulous preschool.
Here she is looking for her pumpkin.
The perfect one...she is already begging me to carve it.
It must be the Montgomery in her. :)

E is quite the little athlete. She loves to play sports. This fall she decided to try Lacrosse.
She is #41
Of course she didn't play it alone
These three are the best of friends.

A testimony

During this October General Conference the kids had packets to fill out to help them listen. One of the things was to write your testimony. Am loves to get up every Fast and Testimony Meeting and give her testimony. We have never once told her or prompted her to go up and have never told her what to say. Here is what she wrote straight from her heart.

"I no the chrch is chroo I no the at (that) if you reed the scripshrs you can liv with God"

Cross Country

T decided to run cross country this year. He wanted to play football or soccer, but Dr. Miller said no way. This was his his last choice, but has ended up really loving it.
We went to a meet on Saturday along with 16000 other people. There were 250 schools there. This is only maybe 1/4 of the modified team race. If you click on the picture you might be able to see him. I wrote on the picture were to look.
He was a little nervous, but did great.
I missed his first race on Tuesday because I was on my way home. I was so glad we all got to go to this one. I loved cheering for him! I can't help but think of this past year and all he has gone through and where he is now. It is nothing short of a miracle.

NYC and the View

This picture was supposed to be at the end. Mary and I had been trying to figure out what to wear to the view. I found a orange sweater and jokingly said stay away from Orange. I then took the sweater back and chose this jacket. When we got to NYC and unpacked we laughed because this is what we looked like.
Monday we got into JFK at 7:00am along with Mary. We had the whole day to spend and it was a glorious day! We were walking in Times Square and happened to run into our friends who were also in town for a race the previous day.
In a city of millions I can't believe we saw them. Very Fun! We had a fabulous breakfast. Walked through central park (my picture is missing) Went to Chinatown, had dinner in little Italy and dessert at Max Brenners. (Mom click on the link and look at the dessert menu)

Here we are waiting in line. We waited for a VERY long time!
Thank goodness it was good weather.
commercial break
Harry Connick Jr.
Mary was asked to do the mid break commercial. Very cool! We had the best seats because of it.
Our hotel right in Times Square
I love this city. I love everything about it. I don't know why.
I hate flying. Truly hate it!! Deborah was nice enough to hold my hand during take off. :) A true friend. The flight there was fine. Coming home it got a little bumpy, but nothing too bad.
As much as I hate it I loved this view up above the clouds.
We had a fabulous trip.

*Deborah took all these pictures except for the clouds. Thanks!

My favorite apples

Have you ever tried these apples. We love them. YUM!!
The kids can't wait to pick the perfect one and...
Take a huge bite!
I love going apple picking. This farm has a wagon that takes you out to the orchard.

Here is where I try to get all 5 kids looking half way decent for just one picture.
It never works. Am didn't have an apple of her own to bite so Em was kind enough to share.

Dad- My friend Mary has a Honey Crisp apple tree in her yard there in UT.
You should plant one.

The happiest day of my summer

7th grade this year! WOW. I can't believe he is getting so old. This is his second year in middle school so it was no big deal for him.

My 4th grade teacher was Mr. Knight. I remember a few things about being this age. That is scary to me. This was his second year at this school so no big deal here either.
This is the close up I chose
This is the one he chose
These two are such good friends. It is fun to watch and listen to them.
She is the only one who started a new school this year. She was a little nervous, but I think having C with her and having his teacher from last year helped.
She came home happy that is all I wanted.

She was so excited to go to school. She had a few hard weeks coming home so tired and ornery! I think just getting used to all day school was taking its toll.
She started taking piano lessons this year and is really loving it.
She is always asking me to come and practice with her.
Yes even this one had a first day and yes that means three mornings a week I am totally and completely alone. I have yet to just stay home and relax. There is always something that needs to be done. She loves going. We love this school. We have been there for 10 years and it will be a sad day for me when she graduates this spring.
isn't my baby getting big!

Irondequoit bay

One of our favorite summer and fall activities is going for walks. We borrowed a book from a friend that had trails in our area and found a new one for us to try.
We got there just as the sun was going down

They found this frog and fought over who was going to hold it.
It is a miracle that we let it go alive.
I love the light that comes with the sunset.

This was our last official summer hike. We are looking forward to a few fall ones.
