Old Forge

Friday night we decided very last minute to go camping at our favorite place in Old Forge. We decided to leave all electronics home. No videos, no computers, no games, and only Chris' cell phone(which ended up getting wet and not working the whole time we were there). As we were getting ready and the kids were going crazy I kept thinking about the article I read in the Ensign this month about making memories and I had to keep saying that over and over to myself. :) We packed up the car and headed out Saturday morning for the Adirondacks. Here is our cabin that we stayed in. It had 2 double beds with a single bunk bed over them. A bathroom with a shower and a kitchen. It is the best kind of camping ever!!

Here was the view out our door. Isn't that water beautiful!!
We had water gun fights
The girls played in the water...all day!
We ate treats
We played at the playground

roasted marshmallows
I read this book all day with no laundry to do, no phone to answer, no house to clean...AHHHH!
We painted paper
We painted rocks
I took way too many pictures

Roasted hot dogs. (I usually don't let my girls go without shirts)
We golfed
We had fun with each other
The boys fished (a lot)
We had the best campfire ever

This is how she sat at the fire. She said it was stinky.
We played baseball
We went out on the lake. C was out there more than anyone and did great at paddling and getting to where he needed to go.
We did bubbles
and got our feet dirty.

We had a blast and can't wait to go back in a few weeks.

More fun

I got on the computer tonight to upload all my pictures from our camping trip to share with you all, but I got a little lost. I clicked on www.thepioneerwoman.com, which I do about every day, and she had a new photoshop trick so I decided to try it. I have been taking pictures lately with the intent to play with them. Trying to get all different kinds of pictures with color. I think this photoshop program might cause me to loose some sleep. It is amazing all the things that you can do. Here are my before and after. I will get the camping pictures up soon, but it may take a few days. I took WAY too many... as usual.

One picture 5 ways

I have always wanted to use photoshop for more then resizing my pictures. I think it makes pictures look so much better and you can do really fun things. I have had photoshop for quite a while and have gotten all the upgrades (perks of Chris' business), but I have never been able to figure anything out. It is a complicated program and very overwhelming. I took a class a few months ago with Deborah, but do you think I can remember anything! Well I have just discovered ACTIONS!! Holy Cow they are fun and make photoshop almost easy! I have been playing with it for a few days now trying different actions and then tweaking them a bit. The above photo is the original shot. Below is the same picture with 5 different actions, most of them with more then one, that I have done.

Spring Break

We started our spring break by having this darling girl over for a sleep over. She is a friend of E and she moved away a few years ago. She first moved to Utah for a year and now they are in Syracuse. We were so excited to have them close again!
It had been awhile since they have played together, but from the second she got in our car they were laughing the whole way home. They all played so good together and on Monday we had Bea over to play with them as well. It was so great to see them again and we can't wait to to it again this summer!

Tuesday we went to the Silva's for a kid card swap. It was SO FUN! We had to design one card and bring all the supplies to make 12 more. Then each girl got to make 12 different cards. Again this is something we can't wait to do again this summer.
Just a funny song this one has been singing "Larry had a little lamb and Jesus is his name" The tune is Mary had a little lamb and Bingo. TOO FUNNY!!
Thursday we went to Corbett's Glen for a picnic and hike with the Pulleys. The kids were so happy to be outside.
When we got to the water they all started throwing anything they could find into the water. C threw his sisters walking stick into the water and she was very sad. See Annabel trying to comfort her.
The best thing is that when she found out why Am was crying she immediately broke her walking stick in half and gave it to Am. I love that girl. She is always so sweet to my girls and they LOVE her. Below are just more pictures of the kids.

She walked the whole way in which was about a mile, but she was too tired to walk out so she asked Darren to carry her. The other one wanted to be carried as well so we decided to sit where we were and Darren went and got the car for us.

We ended the week at Buckland park with the Pulleys and Silva's and had a great time. It was almost 80 degrees Friday and Saturday which was great for the kids to be outside all day. We did get the trampoline set up as and that has keep them all very happy. Now back to school (yeah) for 2 more months.

Hockey Game

Last Friday night we went to the Hockey game here. My friend called and said she had extra tickets and asked if we wanted them. We had never been and thought it might be fun for the kids to go. They were all so excited!! I must admit so was I! I really like hockey games.
We got there about 20 minutes early and they kept asking how much longer??? When is it going to start? When are they going to skate and so on...Once the game started they liked it for about 10 minutes until they saw the person selling the cotton candy and then the person selling the peanuts. We didn't bring any extra money and this wasn't good. "I am hungry" we heard over and over. Why can't we buy something and on and on and on.......
This one was wasn't to sure about going, but really liked it and was a little sad when we didn't stay for the whole thing. The girls had had it, but were sad when we were leaving. Where is C is all of this you ask???
It was a little cold in the arena and he being without a blanket (but did have a book...incase I get bored he said) he used my jacket instead!!!

playing outside?

I think I have done a post about how much this kid loves reading. He is like me...always has a book. We can just be driving to church (2 miles away) and he wants to have a book in the car.
We had a few days of fabulous weather last week and I made the kids play outside every day. This is how he likes to play outside. We can be at the park and this is what he wants to be doing...laying on our pic-nic blanket reading.
He also hates to be cold. He doesn't like any kind of breeze when he is outside or he is "cold." These were taken when it was 70 degrees outside and BEAUTIFUL, but...
there was a slight breeze!

Conference Weekend

We were in New York City for Easter and therefore didn't do any egg coloring.
We thought this would be a great activity to do during conference.
(don't worry about his long hair...it is gone)

He is at that age where all his pictures are looking like this. FUN!
This really isn't the greatest picture, but the reason for putting it up on here is because you can see some of the wonderful pictures my friend Kara took. I finally hung them and I LOVE them.
The kids were coloring the eggs with their fingers.
Thus they all ended up looking like this for the day. It would NOT wash off.
Here are the eggs drying in the SUN! That's right we have seen sun!

This was an activity to keep the boys happy and quiet while watching conference. It kind of worked. It kept one of them happy and both of them not were quiet. We only did it for the first session.
Here is what the final project turned out like.
Aren't they cute?
